Atlas Mountains
The beautiful Atlas Mountains is a mountain range of snow capped peaks and deep gorges in northwest Africa extending about 2,400 km (1,500 miles) through Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, including The Rock of Gibraltar. With an average elevation of 11,000ft, this mountain range contains some of the highest peaks of North Africa, including Mt Toubkal (13,665ft), the highest of all. South of the Atlas lie the Anti-Atlas Mountains, with volcanic Mt Siroua (10,000ft).
