Ait Bougmaz Valley trek in 6 days from Marrakech, Explore Berber Villages in Atlas 

Trekking in the Ait Bougmaz Valley and M'goun-canyon: A varied hike in the wildest and most remote valleys of the central High Atlas. Start in the green valley of Bougmez "The Happy Valley" where the hike begins by crossing small villages with traditional houses. Then hike to the coll of Ait Imi (2905) to reach the high plateaus where nomads graze their herds of goats and camels. The hike then continue by descending into the M'Goun Valley, and crossing many small villages by the river, then we descend into the fabulous Gorges before arriving at the beautiful Rose Valley. Spectacular landscapes and permanent contact with the local population!.


Day 1 : Marrakech -  Ait Bougmez  Valley - (1800m)

Depart 8H from Marrakech mountain city which gives access to the beautiful nature . Along the way, we will enjoy the beautiful scenery that characterises the central high atlas to the Happy Valley. Welcome to Berber life by a mint tea and a free ride through the houses and fields of Timite. Night lodging at the inhabitant. 6 hour drive.

Day 2 : Timit - Ait Imi pass (2900 m) - Valley Zerkan - Tighremt not Ait Hamed (2300m)

We will discover the village of El Had Tabant, then we start to climb from the source of Ait IMI at 2000m to 2910m the Col. A 5 hour ascend. At the top we will discover a panoramic view. Then, we will find an easy path to go down to the valley of Ouzighimt. 6h30 walk : 1100m ascent and 600m descent. Night in tents.

Day 3 : Tighremt Ait Ahmed - Valley ouzighimt-Imin IRKT

This day consistsof the descent into the Ouzighimt valley, a beautiful valley with a population of women who are always in full swing : at work on the fields, collecting wood for fire ... our walk will be all along the river, which binds several villages. Lunch will be at the edge of Taghraft. Then we will continue our journey to the town Imi N'IRKT. 5h30 Walk. 500m descent. Night in tents.

Day 4 : Imi IRKT - Tiranimine

his step crosses several rivers. We will be in the water which is often pleasantly cold and refreshing in the summer. Take a break for hot tea and lunch near the source of Ifasfas. The camp will be at the village Tighanimine. 5 hours walking. 500m descent. Night Bivouac tents.

Day 5 : Tighanimine - Boutaghrar - night in gîte

This day begins with a walk through fields of crops: fruit trees ( fig, walnut and apple )before reaching Boutarghrar. Our lunch will be provided near the village of Tamgalouna. 5h30 walk. 400m descent. Overnight in gîte.

Day 6 : Boutghrar - Ouarzazate - Col Tichka - Marrakech

We will depart at 8am towards the city Kelaa Gouna, known worldwide for its roses and its large Rose Festival which is organized the first week of May each year. After 90km, we arrive in Ouarzazate. Have a break in a local restaurant.The road home will go over the famous Tichka pass. 320km.
