On the first day of your Morocco desert tour, we will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. If your arrival time allows we may be able to go visit the Great Mosque Hassan II, a fascinating example of Moroccan architecture. It is the largest mosque in the kingdom and the fifth largest mosque in the world. It stands on top of a promontory overlooking the Atlantic, and has space for 25 000 worshippers. We will have dinner in a local riad/hotel where we will stay overnight.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Fes

We will leave Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco, in favour of Rabat, the political capital. We will see the Oudaya Kasbah and its stunning gardens. It was built in the Almohad dynasty, 1150 Ad. We will also visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and Hassan II as well as the Hassan Tower. After we finish seeing the sights of Rabat we will drive to Fez. The road is lined with thousands and thousands of olive trees and farmlands along the two banks of the river. We will have dinner in a local riad where we will spend the night.

Day 3: Fez

Now that we’ve seen the economic and political capitals of Morocco we will head to the Intellectual capital of Fez, the Mecca of the west and the Athena of Africa. With a population of 1 million people, it is the second largest of the four imperial cities in morocco, after Casablanca. This city is divided into 3 distinct parts. The oldest part is Fez el Bali, surrounded by a big wall
It is made up of over 9000 streets and alleys. The new Fes is home to the Mellah, the Jewish quarter and the Ville Nouvelle. Fez El Bali is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Its medina is the largest in the world. A local guide will lead you through the city and show you all the points of interest.

Day 4: Fes- Meknes- Midelt- Ziz Valley- Erfoud- Merzouga

Today will be an early start. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Fes and we will cross the Atlas mountains to reach Azrou and the nearby cedar forests. Then we will drive to Midelt, a town famous for its minerals and apples. Later we will pass through the Ziz valley to reach the city of Erfoud, famous for its fossil products. Then we will drive to Rissani to visit a local souk and finally continue on to the Merzouga desert. We will stay overnight in a local desert hotel where we will eat dinner and breakfast.

Day 5: Merzouga Desert

Today we will continue to explore the Merzouga desert. We will visit the village of Khamlia, famous for its musicians originally from Sudan and Mali. We will eat lunch with a Berber family who live in the desert and later in the day ride camels back to the desert camp with our experienced guides. We will again watch the sunset in the desert, and enjoy Berber dinner, drum music and campfire in the desert. Tonight we sleep in tents in the Merzouga desert.

Day 6: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge

This morning we will ride camels back from the Merzouga desert camp to the village for breakfast. After breakfast, we will drive to Rissani to visit the local souk/market, then we will continue on to Todra Gorge. We will hike through the beautiful narrow canyons in the area. Later in the day we will continue on to Dades Gorge where we will eat dinner and spend the night in a local hotel.

Day 7: Dades Gorge – Ourzazate – Ait-Ben-Haddou

This morning we will continue our tour by heading towards Ouarzazate. We will visit the beautiful Kasbah Taourirte as well as some local movie studios before continuing through the High Atlas mountains to the Ait-Ben-Haddou. We will visit the Kasbah, which is a UNESCO world heritage site and the set for many movies. After this we will traverse the Tizni n’Tichka, the highest road pass in Morocco, and arrive in Marrakech for the evening.

Day 8-9: Marrakech

We will spend the next two days exploring Marrakech “the red city of Morocco”. After breakfast at the riad, your guide will lead you to the most important sites of cultural and historical interest. Some sights include the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs and the Bahia Palace. We will have lunch near the Jemaa El Fnaa, the main square. Afternoons will be free time to wander through the souks and see the hundreds of stalls full of gorgeous handicrafts. We will have dinner and spend the night in a local riad/hotel

Day 10: Marrakech to EssaouiraEssaouira-port-2019-300x189 11 Day private Sahara desert and trekking tour from Casablanca

Today we will visit the Atlantic Ocean and the coastal town of Essaouira. It is home to a traditional Portugese harbour with Moorish and Portugese art. Essaouira is famous for its fine wood-work, art galleries and beautiful nearby islands. We will spend the night in a Riad in Essaouira.

Day 11: return to Casablanca

After breakfast in Essaouira we will drive you back to Casablanca, where we will say goodbye. The tour can be modified depending on your requirements.
