You start the trek at the base of a verdant valley and trek alongside a tributary to the Oued Nfis River. Enjoy lunch under the shade of walnut trees on the riverbank, before continuing in the afternoon where you gain more height. Then come to the small village of Tizi Oussem (1,785m) and Azib Tamsoult Hut (2250m) overlooking the Ouirgane Valley, where you stay tonight in typical basic Berber style, enjoying the relief of the fresher mountain air and wonderful Berber hospitality. [/svt-event][svt-event title=”Azib Tamsoult Hut –Aremd (6-7 hours trekking)” date=”Day 2″ class=”svt-cd-green” ]We leave Azib Tamsoult and cross the ancient mountain pass at just under 3,000m, along routes used for centuries by the Berbers. We lunch just below the pass with great views of Aguelzim (3,542m) and Tizi Melloul (4,015m). The afternoon is spent descending to the delightful Mizane Valley, one of the most verdant in the Atlas. Here in the village of Aremd, that clings to the steep slopes of the valley, we find our second Gist house and are welcomed by a mint tea, which is soon followed by another great Berber meal and a good night’s sleep. [/svt-event][svt-event title=” Aremd- Toubkal Hut 3207m (6 hours trekking)” date=”Day 3″ class=”svt-cd-green” ]We wake early for breakfast and start trekking towards the mighty Mount Toubkal. Leaving the river below, we gradually rise until reaching the tiny settlement of Chamharouch at 2310m where we stop for some lunch. We continue this afternoon until we reach the base of Mt Toubkal where the land resembles a hard rocky mountain environment. We arrive at the Neltner refuge to a welcoming cup of mint tea and wonderful Berber hospitality. [/svt-event][svt-event title=”Toubkal Hut – Mt Toubkal Ascent- Imlil-Marrakech (10-12 hours trekking)” date=”Day 4″ class=”svt-cd-green” ]A long but exhilarating day of trekking through majestic scenery waits. We wake early this morning, have breakfast and immediately start climbing. Our guides will be taking us through the hidden valleys and up to the rarified atmosphere on the higher reaches of Mt Toubkal. We should reach the summit before midday where the views of the rest of the Atlas Mountains are truly magnificent. We stop for a well deserved lunch before spending the afternoon descending to the village of Imlil 1,751m. Your Toubkal Trek comes to an end you meet the vehicle again to transfer back to Marrakech.
