Ait Benhaddou is an interesting and long day trip from Marrakech after you cross the High Atlas Mountains section to reach the southern foothills.

Ait Benhaddou is the UNESCO site classified since 1987 where about 8 families are still living in the old part of the fortified village. Traveling from Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou is a drive along a windy road to the highlands of the Berber villages to attend the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260m). Afterwards, you carry through the salty valley of Ounila to get to Ait benhadou kasbah after the famous stop to visit the Glaoui Palace & Kasbah. Ait Benhaddou as a fortified village is considered a natural decoration / set for many movies which were shot in the area. Either you lunch first or take a walk, cross the dried river to get to top hill with your English speaking driver to dominate the thekasbahs of Ait Benhaddou. In the afternoon, drive back to Marrakech via the Tizi n’Tichka. You will get dropped off around 7 p.m
